Femmes et
Pouvoir d'Agir

pitch

Women have been the topic of conversation for years now. Women have never been as powerful as they are today, when only 99 years ago the United States allowed women to vote for the first time, and Valentina Tereshkova went to space for the first time in 1963, 56 years ago. Women of the 21st Century have the chance to make a difference in the world we live in today and their voice has never been louder.

APPROACH

The final result is an eye-catching, intense poster. A simple black silhouette of a woman in a "super-hero" pose is standing strong. The use of a mega-phone where the head would normally is a way of letting people know that women are loud and they will (continue to) be heard. The choice of the megaphone was to represent the manifestations and the loudness.

This poster was created in a Visual Communication 1 class for the Marc Choko Bourse SDGQ 2019. The theme was Femmes et Pouvoir d'Agir. Every Student was required to design a poster and 10 would be selected by teachers to enter the competition.

I was lucky enough to be part of the 140 candidates who entered and make it to the top 15. My poster was exhibited at Musée McCord in downtown Montreal from March 7th 2018 to March 25 2018. It was also part of "Égalité Mon Oeil, an exhibition that took part in Montreal and also passed on Radio Canada.
